Volunteers of America of Los Angeles
Strengthening Families Program

The Volunteers of America of Los Angeles’ Strengthening Families Program addresses the need to prevent and reduce homelessness among Head Start families in the East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights areas. Through intensive case management, families enrolled in the program have obtained one-on-one personalized assistance including skills training, personal development workshops, and financial literacy classes, just to mention a few. The Strengthening Program also assists homeless and at-risk families obtain permanent housing and employment, and is connecting them with much needed resources including school supplies, medical services, and clothing.
